26/02/2010 - Finishes variation

Received the finishes variation and my house price just went up by 2 and a half grands !!!
I need to clarify a few things with Coral Homes before i sign the contract variation.

The laminate that i selected for kitchen cupboards is apparently not standard and is costing extra. But i was told by Laminex that it is a standard selection which was mentioned in the coral homes yellow finishes booklet.

For some reason, my tiles in the kitchen have been replaced by timber .... dunno why, have to clarify that.

Changing from 3-strip to 1-strip timber also costed extra.

One good thing is that they are not charging for the different coloured carpet that i have selected for the media room.

All in all, i am not too concerned as i am getting what i want.

Now once they receive the ACC letter from the bank, i will have a start date :) .... yippeee

22/02/2010 - Approvals

Finally i have all my approvals in place. Coral homes said it would take 6 weeks and it did take six weeks. Based on some of the non-standard selection that i had made during my selections meetings, i am awaiting my Variation document. This would give me the costings of all the extras that i have selected.

Have a meeting with the bank scheduled for tomorrow, Need to get the Authority to Commence Construction letter from them.

Once i have signed the Variation document when Coral Homes receives the ACC letter then they will provide me with a construction start date. They promised they will have it for me by the end of this week.

Things have started to get interesting.

11/02/2010 - Selections Meeting

My selections have been formally handed over to Coral. There have been a few instances where i have opted for non-standard inclusions. I am now waiting to hear from Coral about how much they want to charge me for that. If its over the top then i might have to revert back to the standard selections .... lets see.

02/02/2010 - Plumbing and Drainage Approval

Finally some news. Got my plumbing and drainage approval yesterday. Was glad to see that now its moving forward. Awaiting the final approval of plans from the certifier. Hope that come through soon as well.
