25/04/2010 - The frame is up

Does it get more exciting than this? Finally we can see our home materialise in front of our eyes. I am quite happy with our plans and the rooms look quite nice.... exactly as we had imagined.
The guys were again working on Saturday when i went to have a look. I decided not to disturb them and so went back again this morning. And they had finished the entire frame.
The site supervisor had called me on Friday afternoon to inform the progress and he reckons by the end of this week the roof should also be up.

20/04/2010 - Frame

After almost a week of the slab left to cure itself, the work on the frame had started yesterday. The wooden pieces were cut and neatly laid on the slab which kinda gave a feeling for the location of the rooms.

12/04/2010 - Slab down

I was told by my SS that the concrete for the slab would be poured this week. I went to my site on Saturday to check on the progress and to my surprise the guys were working and laying the slab. I came back the next day and the slab was done ... there goes my first installment :)

06/04/2010 - Screw Piers Inserted

After a 4 day hiatus, there is finally some progress today. The corners of the house have been pegged. And i can kind of get the feel for the house.
The screw piers have also been inserted. I had thought they were solid steel screws ... but to my surprise its hollow. I dont care as long it does its job of providing a stable slab :) Here are the pics:

The screw piers have different coloured capping at different parts of the house. Wonder what it means??
